Viennese Concert

A Viennese concert was held during November 2007 at St. Paul's Church in Harlow, to raise funds for the centre and to make it's work more widely known.

Over 200 people attended and were entertained by a fine evening of music performed by the Orchestra. Rhys Merion, a well known tenor, sang a number of beautiful pieces and Sarah Aaronson led the orchestra in playing lively music on her accordion.

During the interval the guests were invited to partake of a buffet of fine food and drinks, also with a Viennese theme, which was provided by the local branch of a national retailer.

The event was organised by Patsy Dye, the Centre Operations Manager, who brought the musicians, the guests and the Mayor of Harlow together for a thoroughly enjoyable evening. The picture above shows (left to right) Tony Purser (Orchaestra Conductor), Patsy Dye, Robert Halfon (Patron of the Centre) and Sarah Aaronson (Orchestra Artisitc Director).

The members of the orchestra gave their own time, energy and expertise as their contribution to the evening. The guests played their part or course, not least in a rousing rendition of Land of Hope and Glory to finish off a delightful evening of entertainment whilst contributing to a worthwhile local cause.
